This is the place where we intend to keep our friends and family updated with news on our life, our travels and anything else that may go on. We probably won't update it much until around Christmas, at which time we will be madly organising ourselves to leave for South Africa. If we are able to, we will update a bit about our travels around South America too... so I guess we'll just see how we go!
If you're reading this, we can assume that you've been directed here by our video or one of our letters, so you should already have a good idea of what we've been doing for the past 5 months or so, as well as what's ahead for us. We will do our best to keep you up to date from this point on!
As I (Kat) write this, we are sitting in an internet cafe in Chiclayo, Peru. We have been in South America for a week exactly today. Earlier in the week, we were in Quito, Ecuador taking Spanish classes. Considering that neither of us have ever studied Spanish, we picked up a surprising amount, which is helping us along with our travels nicely. The past two days we have spent at the beach, enjoying the nice Peruvian weather. Tonight will see us on a bus to Lima and then on to Cuzco, in the east of Peru. There we will start a 4 day hike of the Inca trail on Friday. Needless to say we expect that hike to be a highlight of our trip! We will post some photos in the near future!
